Yesterday, Julie spoke at an event organised by IPPR North on women and politics.  The discussion covered the importance of having prominent female role models to encouraging more women to get involved in politics.  Panellists also discussed what they thought could be done to ensure the number of female politicians in the future is more representative of the proportion of women in society as a whole.
