Julie is delighted that Nissan has come out in support of Britain remaining in the European Union.

Carlos Ghosn, the CEO and Chairman of Nissan said, “Our preference as a business is, of course, that the UK stays within Europe – it makes the most sense for jobs, trade and costs. For us, a position of stability is more positive than a collection of unknowns.”

Following Nissan’s announcement, Julie said: “I am delighted that Nissan has announced its support for the UK remaining in the European Union. The Nissan plant is vital for our local economy. As well as those employed inside the plant, Nissan sustains around 21,000 jobs in the Sunderland area and it is crucial that these jobs are not put at risk.”
