More than 3,000 women in Sunderland have been unfairly affected by Tory changes to pensions.

I am proud to be working with local Women Against State Pension Age Increase groups – WASPI – to fight against the Government’s unfair changes to the state pension age for women born in the 1950s.

In April I hosted a meeting of the Newcastle, Wear and Tees WASPI Group in Sunderland and have held several meetings and coffee mornings to discuss the issue with the women affected.

I also joined with WASPI campaigners to mark Theresa May’s 60th birthday when she would have traditionally expected to receive her state pension.

It’s totally unacceptable that these women are heading for financial hardship. It’s only right that these women who have worked hard and saved all their lives get the secure retirement they deserve.

Make sure you vote for me on June 8th so that I can carry on fighting against these unfair changes and the impact they will have on women in their 60s. If you are able to help out with my campaign, give me a call on 07516 938534.
