The Right Honourable Lady Justice Thirlwall -; a former St Anthony’s pupil -; gave an inspiring speech on the empowerment of women during the official opening of the new school this morning.

Parts of St Anthony’s have been demolished, and rebuilt, on the existing site and the new buildings -; such as a dance studio, library, gyms and hall -; are a wonderful addition to such a historic school.

St Anthony’s has played a key role in educating generations of young Sunderland women and, with the new buildings and facilities, will continue to do so for generations to come.
