Julie Elliott MP Standing up for Sunderland Central
Concerns about a recent spate of vandalism to shop windows in Sea Road were raised by residents when I was out and about in the area recently.
I contacted the Chief Superintendent, Sarah Pitt, to highlight these concerns and clarify what action has been taken to tackle this matter.
I am delighted to let you know that dedicated police patrols have been put in place, with response officers paying particular attention to this area.
In addition, specialist Anti-Social behaviour patrols are being held – as part of an extended initiative focused around metro stations, Roker Park, Thompson Park and Sea Road.
In the coming weeks I intend to hold a community coffee morning in the area to talk further about these issues, and what action is being taken. I will confirm the date closer to the time.
