Today, as part of Carers Week 2019, I visited Sunderland Carers Centre at Thompson Park with Cllr Kelly Chequer to see at first hand the amazing support and help staff provide for local carers.

Carers Week is a time to recognise the wonderful work thousands of carers across the city, and the UK, are doing for loved ones, friends and neighbours every single day.

These often unsung, unpaid heroes get little respite, yet do an absolutely marvellous job.
