A White Paper calling for a new system of regulation to prevent online harm was published by the Department for Digital, Media, Culture and Sport and the Home Office this week.

Today in Parliament I asked Jeremy Wright, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, what recent steps he had taken to tackle fake news and disinformation online.

The problem of fake news constitutes a threat to our democracy, and action is needed.
