Julie Elliott MP Standing up for Sunderland Central
I was honoured to join members of the charity Crisis this week in Parliament to support their call for an end to homelessness.
Tens of thousands of people across Britain are now living on the streets, sleeping in cars, trains or tents or being put up in unsuitable temporary accommodation.
Crisis is calling for an end to homelessness by ensuring that housing benefit covers the cost of renting a home – and that enough social homes are built for everyone that needs one.
