New figures show over 24,000 Sunderland children have not seen an NHS dentist in a year – despite care being free.

This is of great concern, as tooth decay remains the Number One reason for child hospital admissions.

It is time for the Government to reach out to families through programmes in nurseries and primary schools and encourage more visits.
