New school plays key role in Sunderland's future

The official opening of the new-look St Anthony's school made front page news in this month's Northern Cross publication.

The academy has undergone a massive £15.4million transformation over the past three years - with old, cramped buildings replaced with state-of-the-art facilities.

Generations of young women have been educated at St Anthony's since it first opened more than a century ago - and, with the new facilities - the academy can continue to play a key role in the city now, and in the future.
