A campaign to recognise a Sunderland hero who saved dozens of people from the sea has received press recognition.
The Echo has highlighted a campaign to erect a blue plaque in memory of brave Joseph Hodgson – known as the Stormy Petrel.
Joseph risked his life, time and again, to save men, women and children. To officially remember a man like this is long overdue.
