I have joined with all Labour MPs across the North East to call on the Government to increase transport funding in the region.

The inequality between what is spent on transport in the North and London needs to be urgently addressed. London receives more than double what we receive per head of the population.

There is ongoing chronic and historic under-funding in transport infrastructure across the North East of England. Our infrastructure is, at best, poor and in many cases dreadful.
