This week I’ve given my backing to the Echo’s new Clean Streets campaign -; aimed at making Sunderland a smarter place to live, work, study and visit.

Litter and fly-tipping are issues that residents raise with me frequently and people need to start taking responsibility for their actions.

We have also got to try and stop the people who are doing this. Please, if you see someone fly-tipping, report them, their van or their number plate.
