Julie is delighted that Nissan has come out in support of Britain remaining in the European Union.

Carlos Ghosn, the CEO and Chairman of Nissan said, “Our preference as a business is, of course, that the UK stays within Europe – it makes the most sense for jobs, trade and costs. For us, a position of stability is more positive than a collection of unknowns.”

Following Nissan’s announcement, Julie said: “I am delighted that Nissan has announced its support for the UK remaining in the European Union. The Nissan plant is vital for our local economy. As well as┬áthose employed inside the plant, Nissan sustains around 21,000 jobs in the Sunderland area and it is crucial that these jobs are not put at risk.”
