Julie Elliott MP Standing up for Sunderland Central
Julie spoke at the launch of a new report from million+: Creative Futures – Ten Steps to Support the Creative Economy. The report examines the links between modern universities, like the University of Sunderland, and the UK’s creative economy and outlines steps which a number of government departments could take to help encourage and promote these links and the creative industries going forward.
At the event, Julie said:
“The North East of England is not only an industrial heavyweight, but we have also developed expertise in the creative industries and universities play a crucial role in this. The University of Sunderland is a wonderful asset for our city.”
Julie was joined at the event by Shirley Atkinson, the Vice-Chancellor of Sunderland University, and students from the university. You can read the report by million+ here: http://bit.ly/1NmPRsJ
