Julie Elliott MP Standing up for Sunderland Central
Every child deserves the chance to fulfil their potential through a good quality education – yet, for many, their right to learn is literally under attack.
This week I visited Diamond Hall Infant Academy, where Year 3 pupils presented me with a document supporting the Make Schools Safe campaign – which I will pass on to the Prime Minister.
This campaign aims to encourage governments world-wide to meet the global promise of every child receiving a good quality education by 2030.
Sadly, instead of being safe places to learn, some schools across the world are targeted with armed assaults, occupation and violence. These children deserve to learn in safety, not fear.
