In May, Julie became a member of the newly-created WASPI All Party Parliamentary Group.  The new group will support those women hit by the acceleration of the equalisation of the State Pension Age, first in 1995 and then in 2011.

On the event, Julie said: “In my constituency alone, it is estimated that 4,290 women will be affected by the equalisation of the State Pension age. This is an issue that I have continuously raised in Parliament and will continue to do so. We need get the best outcome for these women, many of whom have worked hard for decades and now find themselves in a difficult situation.”
