Julie was proud to announce her support for Dementia Friends’ #TeamDementiaFriends campaign to make professional football more dementia-friendly. Dementia Friends wants every professional club to run a Dementia Friends Session for their staff before the end of the football season. 

On the issue, Julie said: “Our city is football-mad and football should be able to be enjoyed by all. I hope that Sunderland AFC and Sunderland AFC Ladies will take part in this scheme to show that in Sunderland, having dementia does not mean that cannot continue to enjoy watching the game.”
