Julie visited the site of the new wear crossing earlier today.  The project is due to be completed both on time and on budget.  Weather permitting, the 105m tall pylon is set to be installed in November. The bridge will officially open sometime in spring 2018.

“It is very difficult to overestimate the economic and social benefits this bridge will bring to Sunderland, primarily, by improving connectivity between our port and the A19/Internaional Advanced Manufacturing Park. The project will also open up a number of key sites for regeneration along the River Wear, bringing further investment to our city.”
