Julie Elliott, MP for Central Sunderland, will host the event on November 12 at Marley Park Community Fire Station, Old Mill Road, from 10.30am.

“I was out knocking on doors around Southwick recently and nearly everyone I spoke with told me about their concerns relating to litter and fly-tipping in the area,” she said.

“I have therefore organised a public meeting, to which all residents are invited, to discuss the problems and what we can do to improve the situation.

“I spent several hours litter-picking in Southwick earlier this year, and witnessed the problem at first hand. I am hoping that people will work with me to help improve our community.”

** Anyone interested in attending is asked to let Julie know, so that adequate seating and hot drinks can be provided. She can be contacted via email at julie.elliott.mp@parliament.uk or by phone on 0191 5655327.
