I was deeply honoured to lay a wreath at the service in this morning.

It may be 99 years since Armistice Day paved the way for the end of World War One in 1918, but those who lost their lives must not be forgotten. Of the 25,000 Sunderland men who fought, one in ten never returned home.

Those who fought and fell should always be remembered.
