Today in Parliament I met with WASPI campaigners to discuss their on-going fight for a fair deal for 1950s-born women left facing hardship by increases to the state pension age.

Almost four million women across the UK, including more than 6,000 here in Sunderland, have been unfairly affected by Tory changes to pensions. Their plight must not be forgotten.

It is totally unacceptable that women who have worked hard, and saved all their lives, should be left to suffer like this. I will continue to campaign for their right to the retirement they deserve.
