I was honoured to take part in a Human Rights Day event organised by Wearside Amnesty International at Sunderland Minster today.

The event celebrated 70 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and highlighted the amazing work of a wide range of groups across Sunderland.

It is vital that we stand up for our humane values at a time when basic human rights are being disrespected around the world.
