Sunderland’s state-of-the-art new Beacon of Light complex proved the ideal venue to host Big Bang North East – an event aimed at raising the profile of engineering across the region.

Thousands of school pupils joined employers and exhibitors to celebrate achievements in science and engineering – with a Big Bang competition zone helping to showcase local successes.

Many congratulations to all students who won prizes at the event including Chloe Pratt, of Southmoor Academy, who was a finalist in the Big Bang Regional Competition.
