Julie Elliott MP Standing up for Sunderland Central
I felt privileged to be a member of the Organ Donation (Deemed Consent) Bill Committee this week – as it is a bill that will save lives right across the country.
The introduction of a national opt-out system for donation in England could save as many as 500 lives a year – lives that you, your family or those close to you may treasure dearly.
There is an urgent need for organs, and this proposed change in the law would make a very real difference to many, many people. This is all about saving lives.
