The House of Commons has been told a lot of half-truths and mistruths about the use of private data on the internet.

In recent months, as a member of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, I have listened to a lot of evidence in this area.

We cannot prove it yet, but it is becoming clearer that the data companies are not giving us evidence on what they do with the information, and they are not coming clean on how they use it.
