A new report which warns that Sunderland could lose almost a third of its jobs by 2030 -; unless action is taken to prepare the city for global economic changes -; is very concerning.

According to the Centre for Cities report, Sunderland is the second most at-risk city in the UK in terms of the proportion of jobs under threat -; with 37,700 posts potentially lost.

The potential negative impact on jobs in Sunderland as a result of Brexit, as highlighted by the report, is very concerning.

I have raised the issue of the automotive industry and wider manufacturing on numerous occasions in Parliament.

It is essential that these issues are addressed and that the government look to have tariff free trade -; however they can negotiate it -; to stop what would be a catastrophic outcome of Brexit for Sunderland.
