Wearside MP Julie Elliott has delivered a Christmas tribute to postal workers for their First Class service.

Ms Elliott visited Sunderland Delivery Office on Friday, to watch the operation of delivering Christmas post -; and to pass on season’s greetings to its hardworking staff.

The Sunderland Central MP said: “Our posties do a great job all year round. However, it is during the busy period in the run up to Christmas that their hard work and commitment is most apparent.

“It was a pleasure to be able to visit the office for the seventh consecutive year, as it allowed me to thank the staff for their efforts and wish them Merry Christmas.”

Delivery office manager Victoria Armstrong hosted Ms Elliot during the visit and said: “We are extremely proud of our postmen and women for all their hard work during the Festive Season.

“It was a pleasure to show Julie our Christmas operation and to hear her kind words of encouragement and support.”
