Julie attended a Labour IN for Britain event in Gateshead and was joined on a panel by Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Skills, Angela Eagle MP, former MEP Alan Donnelly, Giampi Alhadeff, the Secretary General of the Labour Movement for Europe campaign and Matt Watson from the North East European Parliamentary Office.

Labour Party members from CLPs around the North East attended the event and asked many pertinent questions relating to our EU membership.

Following the event, Julie said: “The message from all who have attended the event here this morning is clear: our country is better of in the EU. Being part of the EU boosts our local economy,it creates jobs by facilitating trade links and, crucially as we have discussed at our event today, it protects workers’ rights.”
